Description
An absolutely delightful Victorian tiny padlock with swallow engraving to each side and engraved detail throughout. This little piece of perfection is extra special because it comes complete with it’s original key. Keys are often lost through the years, so to find one with it’s original key is wonderful.
In extremely good antique condition, no marks/scratches of note.
The swallow has long held a very positive meaning and is associated with love, loyalty and peace. Jewellery with the swallow motif was especially prevalent during the Victorian era and was often given as a wedding gift. The swallow has special significance for sailors and fishermen as when they see swallows it means that land is nearby.
