A really rather lovely Edwardian swallow pendant adorned with seed pearls and a pink paste drop.
Swallows symbolise loyalty, freedom and hope, so it’s an absolutely gorgeous gift for others and also yourself (self-gifting is important btw!).
Crafted and marked for 9ct gold.
In wonderful antique condition.

What is Paste?
This is a question we’ve been asked a few times and it’s easy to see why, as the term ‘paste’ doesn’t really accurately convey the stones being used. Paste was often used, typically as a diamond replacement in the Georgian and also Victorian eras. Paste is the term used to describe various different types of cut glass (often cut with lead). It is less expensive than the actual gems, however good quality paste in antique jewellery is still quite valuable as due to the fact it is quite soft, most examples are badly damaged.
