Description
An absolutely superb Georgian seal with a carnelian intaglio of a dog in a fluted 15ct gold surround (xrf tested). Please do note that most Georgian seals of this type are gold cased, not solid and whilst this intaglio has been xrf tested it is not hallmarked for 15ct/625 and may therefore be cased.
The condition is absolutely exceptional – the dog carving is incredibly detailed – if you look closely you can see the movement in the fur and the blades of grass.
