Description
Beautiful Victorian, ruby and seed pearl cluster ring set in 15ct gold, with fine engraved decoration to the shoulders. Full Hallmarks – Birmingham 1872/3.
In good antique condition. The band is completely original with no sign of previous re-size. The rubies are well matched, bright and lively, with only small nibbles (only seen with 20x loupe). The pearls do however show some wear, one is a replacement as glue can be seen around edge and one pearl has lost it’s nacre. Please do review the photos as these form part of the description.

Information about the gems found in this ring
Rubies are the birthstone of July. They are a rare gemstone and are adored for its red colour, durability and incredible lustre. It is the red variety of the mineral Corundum and it is part of the list of the most precious gemstones alongside diamond, sapphire and emerald.
Pearl, along with alexandrite is the birthstone for June. Pearl gemstones come in a range of colours and sizes, indeed their colour comes from the shell it is formed within. They are formed by living organisms within the soft tissue layer of molluscs. Incredibly, they are the only gemstone to come from a living creature!
