Description
An absolutely remarkable and museum quality Georgian posy (also spelt posey and posie) ring with inscription to inside of band – A true friends gift crafted in 15ct gold (electronically tested). This ring has been dated to between 1726-1767 based on other examples with the same makers mark which are in the British Museum.
This posy ring is in incredible condition throughout, the band is nice and thick and is only very lightly scratched.
Makers mark WF in gothic lettering and in rectangular cartouche.
Originally acquired on the British antiques market between 1974-1985. Part of Albert Ward collection (part 3), Essex UK. Complete with old handwritten title card.
