Description
A darling early vintage dice shaker charm crafted in 9ct gold. Complete with three tiny dice of different colours (red, white, black). Fully hallmarked for 9ct, assayed in London, with date letter for 1958. Makers Mark for Fred Manshaw Ltd.
The company Fred Manshaw was set up by Manfred Durst (and John Najmann) who was brought to the UK during WW2 as part of the Kindertransport humanitarian rescue programme. I’ve gone down a complete rabbit hole with this one and if you’d like to as well, I have linked to the article I found referencing the company Fred Manshaw and it’s founders here.
This charm is in very good overall condition. The reason it’s not listed as excellent is that the hinge has been soldered shut, so you can no longer open the charm.
