Sapphire is the birthstone for the month of September. It is a precious gemstone and is part of the mineral corundum. Sapphire is known for its incredible lustre and stunning blue colour. The term sapphire can also be used to define any other coloured corundum, as long as the colour is also noted, the one exception is ruby.
Diamonds are a girl’s best friend and are also the birthstone for the month of April. The name diamond comes from the ancient Greek meaning ‘unconquerable’.
